About Me

I love to walk along the Thames and take trips on Uber boats. From the boats I hope to get great views of London's bridges with sparkling water in the foreground. 

I also love the sea and some of my favourite places to visit for inspiration are Cornwall, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.

Recently I went to Sri Lanka and stayed in a coconut grove next to the Indian Ocean. I was utterly captivated and have been experimenting in search of  a language to express the beauty,  serenity and spirituality of this  wonderful island in my work.

I am fascinated by the changes in light and colour at different times of the day and my favourite times are early morning as well as late afternoon,  sunset and the gloaming.

Initially I apply acrylic mediums with granular additives with various tools to express the texture I observe. Multiple layers of oil paint are then applied over the acrylic ground to define and illuminate my paintings.
